Grrom the pile downward with the nap on a groom and clean white fringes with a substance such as Chemspec Rx and a liquid detergent like Matrix Confident Premium Extraction Detergent. Brush the carpet in an outward motion on the fringes, and leave for five minutes before rinsing with a hand tool. Use as little moisture as possible to prevent browning. Also, speed dry the carpet with air movers to further avoid browning.
